THIS FLYER IS IN RESPONSE TO RECENT QUESTIONS about our organization. Since the start of operations in the summer of 1996, many eyebrows have been raised about our goals and methods. There have been other questions from potential sources of financing about our structure and fiscal situation.

Pine Tree State Mind Control is a small organization in Maine which has as its purpose the pacification of subversive or destructive elements in society. Using simple, yet sophisticated emotional engineering techniques, we can marshal a segment of the population that is now little more than parasitic into an army of productive, stolid, citizens. What takes water cannons and rubber bullets in some backwards countries is now done through music, television, flyers like this, and speakers hidden throughout many cities. The costs of such elegant transformation are minor and are quickly recouped (albeit indirectly) by the strengthening of Maine's social infrastructure and the resultant economic boost. Because our costs are low, the volume of our output can remain high. A moderate influence campaign (targeting a city like Waterville or Kennebunk) consists of 1500 flyers (cost - $250), fifteen speaker assemblies ($50), one low-level pulse transmitter ($300), and broadcast air time ($300). For less than a thousand dollars, we can make subtle changes in attitude and behavior of the population that make the area more attractive to commerce.

In 1996, $12,000 were raised. Of this, about 60% went into R & D. The remainder went into small, introductory campaigns in Bangor/Orono and Portland. Due to our incremental successes in those markets, our funding for the first quarter of 1997 exceeded that for the whole of 1996. The goals achieved so far in 1997 include increasing our transmitter size in Portland and moving the old transmitter to Lewiston-Auburn, acquiring a high-resolution printer, finding a new source for our piezo speakers, and entering new contracts with broadcasters. Pine Tree State Mind Control is funded primarily by donations. Of these donations, about 75% (in terms of dollar amounts) is from business and the remainder is from private individuals. No tax dollars are used to fund Pine Tree State Mind Control, and there is absolutely no governmental influence in the nature of the transmissions. On the flip side, there is no attempt by this organization to directly influence legislation or policy in any matter. Pine Tree State Mind Control supports no political party or interest. Our donations come from people across the political spectrum who support security and harmony. The twelve volunteers that make up our group have divergent political beliefs, and between them they monitor the content of the output.
