News:

July 9, 2004:  As you might have noticed, most of the updates occur in real time on the PTSMC mailing list through Yahoo Groups.  Despite this tremendous lapse in updates to this page, PTSMC remains active and will continue to act in accordance with its charter.  And yes, the new release, "Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy" is available.

March 3, 2003:  Transmission #5 will not be called "Transmission #5".  The new release, planned for a June escape, will be a pressed CD.  It will also feature a more consistent sound.   This will be the best PTSMC CD to date, judging by the material already gathered.   Until then, notice that PTSMC CDs and teeshirts are now available in Europe at Nois.etc.  PTSMC also played a live show at the Sugar Shack in Lowell, Massachusetts, USA, in early February.  This was announced on the PTSMC mailing list.

January 27, 2003:  Work progresses on Transmission #5.  There have been many recent compilation appearances that you can read about here.  It is a wonderful time.

November 5, 2002:  Mike of PTSMC performs live on the air with Radioactive Prostitute and Immaculate:Grotesque on November 8, 2002.  Listen from home via www.wmfo.org .   Mike's solo project is called Chaff.  Also, Truculent Recordings is having a sale on PTSMC music.  Shop by following the link posted below on May 14th, 2002.

September 29, 2002:  Made some navigation changes.   Over time the navigation has become rather convoluted.  This, I hope, has been fixed.  The content of the page has changed little.  The color green, which has not appeared on this page to date, has arrived.  Two new compilations have come out featuring Pine Tree State Mind Control.  These are the Livesexact remix CD, "Segmented Purity" and the Mandragora Records compilation, "Tryptaphonic Mind Explosion".  Links to these pages are found here.

August 1, 2002:  Tracks from T4 are up on MP3.com.   T4 is available.   Photos of the DHR release party described below are up.  All is good.

May 24, 2002:  "Transmission #4" available June 7th.  See flyer for DHR release party.

May 14, 2002:  Providence Industrial Fest photos here.  New PTSMC material released by Truculent Recordings.

May 5, 2002:  Though the PTSMC information Center now has the ability to take CD orders, it is recommended that you buy through the indie resellers listed on the BUY page.  Teeshirts are available only at live events or by email.

May 2, 2002:  Recent shows include a live, on-air show with Ukuphambana on WMBR, the radio station of MIT and a show at Flywheel in Easthampton, MA with Ukuphambana and The Elite.  Changed this page back to black.   Added new photos to the photos page.

April 1, 2002:  Photos from show described below can be found at the Truculent Recordings link below.  Mike hid behind the screen, and Eric's brother David added some noise as well.  Several other shows are planned, and the details will be posted to the PTSMC mailing list.  It would be a shame if you missed an event because you haven't joined the list.  The DHR compilation is entitled "Don't F*** with Us!", and the ship date has moved to April 16.  More remix work has happened, and the latest tracks, remixes of the Vancouver band Seventh Image, are posted at the IUMA page.  These will be available only temporarily.  The background of this page has been turned white for a while just for variety's sake.

March 5, 2002:  Visit PTSMC, Zero Times Infinity, Immaculate:Grotesque, and Flatline Construct at the Sugar Shack in Lowell, MA, US, on Thursday, March 7 at 8:30 PM.  Watch for a PTSMC appearance on a forthcoming compilation from DHR.  Yes, that's the same DHR as Atari Teenage Riot and Bomb 20.  The anticipated ship date is April 2, and there will probably be shows in the Northeast US to promote the CD.  There have been minor changes to the links page.   Added links to folks who are now distributing PTSMC CDs (Truculent Recordings and Self Abuse).

January 23, 2002:  The possibilities are limited only by inertia.  Since November there have been but two live shows (both unannounced) and one installation at the last Drum n NoiZe at Sydney's in Lawrence, MA, US.  Upcoming shows include but are not limited to a live on-air show at WUNH, Durham, NH, US, 91.3 FM on February 9.  The understanding is that this piece of airtime usually showcases rock bands, and the organizers are not aware that PTSMC is not a rock band.  That may make things interesting.  There are several compilations in the works with PTSMC material rumored to be included.  These will be publicized when appropriate.  Made minor changes to links page.  Surprisingly, there is weekly activity on the PTSMC mailing list, which can be accessed via a link posted below (Nov 3).

November 14, 2001:  Show in Lawrence was successful.  Photos can be found here.  I've added a bunch of photos from many shows.  PTSMC tee-shirts sold out almost immediately.   PTSMC list members can inquire about supply via the list.  The Boston Globe wrote the following blurb to announce the show:  "MIND OVER MATTER       The curiosity factor alone is worth a drive to Lawrence tonight.  Industrial/Ambient noisemakers Pine Tree State Mind Control play a show at Sydney's with Turpentine Consumption, GKL, and Butch tonight at 9.  We are intrigued because under all that grinding and buzzing, Pine Tree State Mind Control laces its tunes with subliminal messages.  The stealth words are the ultimate in evil:  The band encourages listeners to be productive in a 9-to-5 job (insert screams here).  Easier said than done.  We imagine most Trent Reznor look-alikes would have a hard time explaining that black nail polish to their bosses at Nextemps."  The information about the show was sent before Horchata confirmed (hence the omission).  I don't know that anyone took the Boston Globe's bait, but everyone seemed to have a great time.   Everyone was smiling.

November 3, 2001:  Posted flyer on splash page.  Adjusted links.   Added PTSMC mailing list.  Added information about compilation appearance (Sound Unfit for Human Consumption, through Bad Taste).

October 24, 2001:  You are invited to Sydney's, in Lawrence, MA, US, on November 13th to see PTSMC, Horchata, Turpentine Consumption, GKL, and Butch tear the place down.

September 18, 2001:  Added links through which people can buy PTSMC CDs (through CDBaby.com). These are tucked away in the music page section (with MP3s) so as not to detract from the overall feel of the web page.  Started writing some pieces for Rhythm US Network.

August 22, 2001:  Adjusted some information on the link page.  Some visitors have encouraged me to add a button to the page that allows someone to BUY some of the CDs.  This is being investigated.  The old empire.net domain is going away.  I encourage linkers to link to ptsmc.org.

August 7, 2001:  PTSMC.org is now up and running.   Artwork on the "movies" pages has been updated.  A recent live show at WMBR in Cambridge, MA, USA, will soon be posted at the stations web site.  PTSMC was accompanied by WURST for this performance.  Another live show in Lawrence, MA, followed closely.  The message board portion of this site has been changed. The links page has been reorganized slightly, and some of the articles have been removed from the web site.

July 12, 2001:  "Transmission #3" is out.  The music section of this web site is somewhat revised, though I've not implemented the change completely.  Finally, expect PTSMC.ORG to go live shortly.   You may wish to update your links accordingly.

June 4, 2001:  "Transmission #3" is on track for a mid-June release.  I need to work on song order.  Posting a new track, "Gutshot", on the music page.  The tracks "Maslow" and "Charlie", also from T3, are already posted on MP3.com and IUMA.  The music page changes plotted in early April have yet to occur.  Expect changes by the middle of July.

April 26, 2001:  Expect new PTSMC CD, "Transmission #3", in early June.  A song from this first CD is available on IUMA and MP3.com.  The tone is somewhat darker than previous PTSMC releases.   PTSMC has just finished a remix of the Pneumatic Detach track "Burning Leaves".

April 9, 2001:  Changed song of the month.   Plotting changes music page.  Cleaned up some links that had recently died.   Added some new links.

March 18, 2001:  Because the literature took extra clicks to access, there is now a link in the nav menu to a random flyer.  If you are in the northeast US, you may wish to attend the live show described on February 8 below.   If you are not from New England, you might want to sample some local music by clicking here.

March 6, 2001:  The intro movie now has a preloader.  I know this will change the world.  The song of the month has been updated.  The song for March is WTO, which was recorded live at WMFO in Medford, MA.

February 8, 2001:  IUMA is sinking, probably because of my actions at the end of January (see below).  I will investigate the addition of a message board.  I am joining a noise-based web ring.  See the link on the links page.  An alternative to the Flash navigation menu is now provided for those who are not Flash-enabled.  There will be a Pine Tree State Mind Control presentation on March 29, 2001, at the Sugar Shack in Lowell, MA.  Details will be provided.  I will soon change the monthly song on the MP3 page and investigate a non-Flash version.  Because of IUMA's misfortune, I might focus more on the MP3.com page.

January 23, 2001:  Lengthened opening Flash movie.  Many people skip the opening movie.   It is their loss.  I also removed many songs from the IUMA web page.   This is not a reflection on IUMA.

January 17, 2001:  Changed graphics some.   Added a song on the MP3 page.  Decided to rotate song monthly.  May even add song from Transmission #1.  Starting work now on Transmission #3.  Already have one slightly disturbing song done.

January 7, 2001:  With some trepidation, I add a link to generate a demon name.  This is nothing but traffic-generation, and has nothing at all to do with the goals of Pine Tree State Mind Control.  Perhaps more visitors will see the site.  Deleted the bad Flash movie added on December 14.

January 4, 2001:  Added two new MP3's to the IUMA web page under the Album 2 tab, IUMA Exclusives.  Added link for TerrEtron.  A live show in Lowell, MA, USA is scheduled for March.  Details will follow.

December 25, 2000:  Changed navigation menu to improve subliminal content.

December 14, 2000:  Added link to WetWorks E-Zine, which recently reviewed PTSMC's Transmission #2.

December 9, 2000:  Added link to Deconstructing Man web site (shortcut here), for which Eric Ewing, PTSMC employee, contributes interviews.  Recent PTSMC appearances (provided here much too late for you to exploit) are live radio shows at both WJUL in Lowell, MA, on December 1, and WMFO tonight, December 9, in Medford, MA.  The best way to track future PTSMC shows, as well as learn more about the New England industrial/noise scene, is to sign up on the Blank_List, with egroups.com.  The link to egroups is here.

November 10, 2000:  Changed gray splash page to remove references to old pages.  Also added several "secret pages".   These links are scattered throughout the page.  You may find them entertaining.

November 7, 2000:  MP3 hosting on AudioGalaxy permits direct linking.  View this here.

October 21, 2000:  Song added to IUMA page.   It is called Vulgar (Bruise).  Listen to it on the IUMA page by clicking here.

October 4, 2000:  Movie link added.  There is but one movie now, and it won't hold interest for long.  This will change, but not until early November.

October 3, 2000:  Added three links to the links pages.

October 2, 2000:  Added articles related to Extracted Celluloid and intervews of Cat Rapes Dog and Testify.  See Music page.   Added MP3 link at top of  music page to allow the impatient to bypass link hunt.

September 28, 2000:  Buttons active so far include Music, Info, News, Links, and Talk.  Pages complete include Music and News.  The self-imposed deadline of October 1 looms.  Activity levels do not support meeting this date.  Links to old flyer pages are quick and dirty.  These will be updated.
